Bangor Museum and Center for History – For exhibits and displays of area artifacts and to see clothing fashions of by gone years, spend some time here.
Cole Land Transportation Museum – Extremely family friendly, and a special favorite of children, this museum displays the history of transportation in the American Northeast. Of special interest is the collection of snow removal equipment and its military vehicles. There are also displays of railroad pieces, cars and trucks.

Hose 5 Fire Museum – Learn about the life of a fireman from times past to modern times.
Maine Discovery Museum – Take the Kids for a day of hands on learning fun at the largest children’s museum north of Boston.
Thomas Hill Standpipe – The 1897 water observatory / tower is known as “The Diamonds in the Crown.”
Bangor City Forest – 650 acres of wooded land great for hiking, walking, biking and cross-country
Bass Park – The site of a 31 foot tall statue of Paul Bunyan, the Bangor State Fair and Raceway as well as summertime band concerts
