Maine Beaches

With thousands of miles of coastline, one of Maine’s most popular attractions is its beaches.  You can catch some rays on the sandy shore, slip and slide at the water parks or spend some time at the zoo.

Maine Beach Attractions / Locations

  • Maine’s southern beaches include 2 mile Biddeford Pool beach, Parson’s Beach in Kennebunk, Seapoint Beach in Kittery, Ogunquit Beach which is considered one of the country’s best, Old Orchard Beach, Wells Beach, and Long Sand Beach in York.


  • Additional fun can be found at the Palace Playground in Orchard Beach.  Here you can go on the rides, slip down the waterslide, or play games in the arcade.


  • Aquaboggin Water Park in Saco Offers a wave pool, slides a toddler splash area, mini golf and miniature care racing.



  • Funtown/Splashtown USA (Saco) – Roller coasters, waterslides, bumper boats, and  water fun make this a perfect family get away.


  • York’s Wild Kingdom This offers a chance to see more than 250 animals as well as go on rides and other assorted activities.  Great fun for the whole family.


  • Willard Beach (Portland) – A family friendly beach with lifeguards, snack bar, and changing rooms.


  • Thomas Point Beach (Brunswick) – is 80 acres of privately owned land which offers swimming, fishing, picnicking and camping.  There is also a playground, arcade, ice cream parlor and gift shop.


  • Read beach cove (St. Croix Island)-though only accessible by boat, the impressive beach offers picnic facilities, restrooms, a gravel beach and boat launch.
