Camden, Maine Visitors Guide

Do you love fun in the sun, running in the sand and skiing down a mountain side? If so, then pack your bags and head to Camden. It is also known for being the town where poet Edna St. Vincent Millay got her start and for the 1950’s movie Peyton Place.

What to do in Camden

Conway Homestead – Cramer Museum -- From paintings, ship models, and costumes to carriages, sleighs, farm tools and assorted buildings; this is a perfect way to get a glimpse into the past.

Camden Snow Bowel – For fantastic mountaintop views, snowboarding, skiing, a toboggan chute, double chair lift and more, this is the place for great family fun.

Windjammer Sailing – From May to October you can choose from half day to 6 day trips on the schooners that leave from Camden and Rockport and travel along Maine’s Coast.

Aldermere Farm -- Home to the Belted Galloway cattle. These cows are known for their “Oreo Cookie” pattered hide.

Curtis Island – Come see the 26ft automated light tower on the gorgeous island. You can enjoy picnicking, hiking, kayaking, and find numerous backdrops for fantastic photos.

For outdoor activities like hiking, bicycling, group sports and more visit some of these area parks: Harbor Park, Cramer Park, Mary-Lea Park, Fernald’s Neck and Rockport Recreation Park. There is also an assortment of Windjammer (or schooner) cruises that range in price, age requirements, and trip length that can be booked through the Maine Windjammer Association.

For evening entertainment check out the Bay Chamber Concerts, the Bayview Street Cinema or the Camden Civic Theater.
