Maine Golf

With over 30 golf courses three of which are listed on America’s top 100 courses, Maine has a new green for every day of the month. Of course, with such magnificent scenery at Maine’s fair – there is no such thing as a “bad day on the course”.

Below are some of the favorites, but for a complete list contact the Golf Maine Association at 1-877-553-4653.

  • Point (Sebago) Resort has beautiful fairways that have been rated the #1 course in southeastern Maine.
  • Samoset Resort (Rockport) – the newly renovated Oceanside resort with 18 championship holes of golf.
  • Sunday River Golf Club – 18 holes of world class golf; you can also hire an experienced specialist to help you perfect your putt on the 6,700 yd of golf course.
  • Mingo Springs (Rangely) – A challenging 18 hole course; you will find a club house, food & beverage, golf carts, and lessons available.
  • Sable Oaks golf course (Portland) -Considered one of Portland’s most challenging greens – tee time required.
  • Riverside municipal golf course (Portland) – Here you will find 18 hole par 72 course, as well as a 9 hole 35 par course. On week-ends tee time is required.
  • For golfing on days of rainy weather, visit Fore-Seasons Golf (Portland) where you can play virtual golf on almost 2 dozen famous courses. There is a snack bar and drinks as well.
  • Goose River Golf Club (Camden-Rockport) a beautiful 18 hole course, Amenities include snack bar and club rentals. Green fees are reasonable.
  • Bucksport Golf Club -known for having the longest 9 hole course in Maine, you will find moderate green fees, a pro shop, snack bar, driving range and golf carts.
